On June 21st, local time in Côte d'Ivoire, the inauguration ceremony for the rubber factory Ⅲ of the Mainland-Guansheng joint venture was held in San Pedro, Côte d'Ivoire. Xie Weijiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Yueyang Municipal Party Committee, led a delegation from Yueyang city to attend the ceremony.
Philippe D. Légré, Governor of the Bas-Sassandra District in Côte d'Ivoire, Dosso Adama, Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire to China, Wu Jie, Chinese Ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire, Yan Jinsong, Chairman of Yueyang Guansheng Investment Development Co., Ltd., Deng Xiaoxia, Deputy General Manager, and Zhu Chen,President of Mainland Group, also attended the ceremony.
At the inauguration ceremony, Xie Weijiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial Committee and Secretary of the Yueyang Municipal Committee, stated in his speech that the successful launch of the joint venture Mainland-Guansheng Rubber Factory Ⅲ is an important step in implementing the key consensus reached by the heads of China and Côte d'Ivoire and advancing the ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative. It is also a pragmatic move to enhance the friendship and deepen cooperation between Hunan and Yueyang with Côte d'Ivoire. Yueyang city will further strengthen cooperation with Côte d'Ivoire in areas such as the processing of non-resource-based products, modern agriculture, equipment manufacturing, and cultural tourism. This will promote the development of bilateral relations to a higher level and contribute to deepening China-Africa cooperation and strengthening China-Africa friendship in the new era.
At the ceremony, Philippe D. Légré, governor of the Bas-Sassandra District of Côte d'Ivoire, stated in his speech that the establishment of the factory in the Bas-Sassandra District brings significant benefits to the local economy. He expressed hope that more Chinese companies will invest in the area, assuring that the local government will provide the utmost support.
Wu Jie, the Chinese Ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire, congratulated the factory on its official launch. He stated that the launch of the Mainland-Guansheng joint venture rubber factory is a highlight for Chinese enterprises investing in Côte d'Ivoire. It serves as a model of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation and is an important outcome of the high-quality construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative.
Dosso Adama, the Ivorian Ambassador to China, emphasized in his speech that the factory's launch will significantly boost Côte d'Ivoire's natural rubber production capacity and added value. It will promote local economic prosperity and benefit the people. He expressed hope for further expansion of trade and economic cooperation with Chinese companies in the future.
Yan Jinsong, Chairman of Yueyang-Guansheng Investment Development Co., Ltd., stated that Guansheng will leverage the momentum of the "Belt and Road" initiative to accelerate investment in the processing of agricultural and sideline products in Côte d'Ivoire. The company aims to establish overseas warehouses in Côte d'Ivoire and Tanzania and build a comprehensive China-Africa economic and trade platform focused on services to significantly expand trade with Africa.
In his speech, Zhu Chen, President of Mainland Group, expressed gratitude to all parties for their strong support in ensuring the project's successful launch. He stated that under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the "Belt and Road" initiative, Mainland Group will continue to actively explore new models and pathways for China-Africa agricultural cooperation to contribute to the development of China-Africa economic and trade relations. Building on the company's existing rubber processing business in Côte d'Ivoire, Mainland Group will increase its investment in the development of agricultural products such as cassava, cocoa, and cashews, thereby supporting the growth of local processing industries for non-resource-based products in Africa. Additionally, it will work to bring more and better African agricultural products into China.
Leaders from various parties present at the ceremony jointly pressed the start button, marking the official launch of the Mainland-Guansheng joint venture Rubber Factory Ⅲ.
Before and after the launch ceremony, the delegation conducted on-site inspections of Mainland Group Rubber Co., Ltd. and the Mainland-Guansheng joint venture Rubber FactorⅠto understand the company's production and operations.
Secretary Xie Weijiang also visited the staff of Mainland Group and Guansheng Company stationed in Côte d'Ivoire, expressing gratitude and offering his regards for their hard work. He warmly encouraged everyone and reminded the on-site employees to enhance personal protection, ensure good health, and pay attention to safety.
The Mainland-Guansheng joint venture Rubber FactoryⅢis a collaborative investment by Mainland Group and Yueyang Guansheng Investment Development Co., Ltd. The factory is located in San Pedro, Côte d'Ivoire, with a total investment of approximately 21 million USD. Covering an area of about 170,000 square meters, it has an annual processing capacity of 100,000 tons. The factory is expected to create 600 local jobs and generate an annual output value of 100 million USD.
